7.09.07 / XFIRE, MUSIC, AND MAYHEM
XFire (one of the biggest gaming services in the world), will be hosting a live chat with us for their Music Week! We will be guesting along with Megadeth, Mindless Self Indulgence, 311, and many more. The live chat will occur on Thursday, July 19th, at 2 PM CST (2000 GMT). Ten people will also win a free copy of the latest album, "Wrath". It is invite-only, so click here to sign up!
As if that wasn't enough, we will be premiering a brand new track next week, exclusively downloadable through XFire. What more do you want?
Oh wait, there is more! Also, if you are in the midwest, don't miss the 4-day Reverence festival later this month, where we will be playing on Friday along with Bella Morte, Claire Voyant, and Parasite Twin. Also stick around for Saturday, as Andrew will be playing keyboards for electro-industrial hip-hoppers Stromkern! Not to be missed.
DVD info coming soon, we promise! (Blame the German ratings board for the delay).
3.20.07 / PUT INGREDIENTS IN BLENDER AND MIX THOROUGHLY
The DVD has been shot. The mixes are in. The b-sides are nearing completion.
Remixers include: Mesh, Alpinestars, Benz & MD, Conetik, Tom Wax, Datguy, and more.
Summer 2007. Details coming soon.
1.12.07 / AND THE ATHENIANS CONSTRUCTED A GREAT FORUM
For those of you that used to use the old YahooGroups-hosted mailing list, it's been deactivated. (Too much spam and administration annoyances). But, we have something even better -- a brand new forum! Use the tab at the top of this page, or bookmark this
URL - http://forum.irismusic.com. The band members will visit from time to time and post update, answer questions, and generally be more interactive than is possible on this boring old static webpage. See you there!
12.14.06 / THE LONG JOURNEY ENDS WHERE IT BEGAN

Thank you to everyone who came out for the European gigs! We had a great time and were very happy with the enthusiastic reception. To all of our fans in Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Russia, and the rest of the world, we wish you happy holidays and the best for the New Year. Also, a most special thank you to our touring friends: mesh, who graciously allowed us to entertain their (captive) audiences. Definitely both great musicians and great people.
11.18.06 / MINOR COURSE CORRECTIONS
We have just received word that the Warsaw date has been cancelled. This was not our decision -- it was due to the local promoter. Tickets can be refunded at your point of purchase. All other shows will be going on as planned!
11.09.06 / THE REINHEITSGEBOT CONTINUES TO WORK IN OUR FAVOR
Two weeks until we re-invade Germany! This time we'll be extending the trip to include Poland, Austria, and Russia as well. And, of course, we are very much looking forward to seeing all of our dear European friends again. It is also quite a treat that the last five dates will see us opening for mesh on their "We Collide II" tour.
10.11.06 / SHOWS AND SHOWS AND SHOWS
Iris will be playing a single Texas show in Austin on October 27th with VAST at Elysium. It's a co-headlining set, but Iris is playing first (doors at 9:30 - get there before 10:30). $14 advance tickets available at Elysium and Secret Oktober. Also featuring DJ's Overbyte and Ominous (Infused Radio). Andrew's moving to Chicago so this may be the last TX date for a long, long time... don't miss it!
Also, the dates for our late November - early December European tour are pretty complete (including 5 dates on the Mesh "We Collide" tour). Check the live section for more details!
09.6.06 / THE OVEN IS FIRED UP
We're currently working on the next project, which will be a CD + DVD combo! The audio portion will have 3 brand new b-sides (well, really, they're more like weird A-sides), and a bunch of great remixes. The DVD portion will contain an interview + tour diary + some live clips -- it's sort of a peek into what our lives are like when we're driving around Germany from gig to gig. For more long-form rambling about this, check our Myspace page.
Also, we are happy to announce that we will be playing a bunch of shows in Europe in the November 24th to December 9th timeframe. Final dates and cities will be announced shortly, but it looks as if we'll be playing with some of our friends in bands such as Mesh and Camouflage.
06.19.06 / FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA
Iris will be making a rare appearance on the East Coast for July 4th, at Nation in Washington, DC. Besides us, witness such bands as Chemlab, Thou Shalt Not, Informatik, and DJ sets from the likes of Ronan Harris (VNV Nation) and Martin Atkins (Invisible Records). We are currently scheduled to play second from last, so plan accordingly. More information in the shows section!
05.22.06 / DIRTY, LOW-DOWN THIEVES
In case you were wondering, any MP3 download site that looks too good to be true probably is. Many people have alerted us that you can find Iris albums for sale for just 10 cents a track (!) on some sites such as AllOfMP3, MP3Sugar and others. These sites are run by Russian gangsters. No money from these sites ever goes to the artists or labels, due to an obscure Russian law which states that rights can be given to foreign tracks by "ROMS" (the Russian music society).. We have never given authorization for them to sell our albums, and so they use a loophole in Russian copyright law to post them. Thus, when you download music from these sites, you're essentially stealing from your friends (us), and giving your credit card to shady European criminals. We'd prefer you use iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, or any of other other download services that actually pay the artists for the music that they sell. And thanks again to everyone for your support!
4.02.06 / HOME, HOME ON THE RANGE
We're back. Thank you to everyone that supported us on our 14 European dates with De/Vision, the crowds were truly excellent. Now we will sleep for approximately 17 days, and then (assuming we wake up) commence work on new material.
In other news, something big is being planned for July 4th in Washington, DC -- more details once they're confirmed!
4.02.06 / AUF REISE
And we're off. See you in Deutschland! Buy us a beer and we'll sign whatever you want.
(P.S. - Check the Iris remix on the new Frozen Plasma disc "Artificial", as well as Andrew's remix of Kilowatts' "E Suffix" on his upcoming "Problems/Solved" release)
2.27.06 / LEAVING, ON A JET PLANE
Tour dates have been finalized, check the live page for the complete list! In other news, the band is preparing for the upcoming European jaunt -- expect a good mix of songs old and new, and maybe even a track or two you've never heard before. Andrew has been working on remixes for Invisible Ballet, Frozen Plasma, and a new collaboration with a brilliant German psychology professor.
1.10.06 / A NEW YEAR, A NEW DAWN
Lineup for the Pluswelt Festival (April 29) is confirmed: De/Vision, Iris, Beborn Beton, and Minerve. We have also added another German show on April 27th in Braunschweig, and a London date on April 30th. Check the LIVE page for more details. Also look for a big interviews in the upcoming issue of print magazine Rock Hard (Italy).
We wish everyone the best for 2006, and want to thank everyone for their continued love and support.
12.04.05 / FRESH STYLES FOR THE WINTER SEASON
Check out some new interviews with Gothtronic (NL) and Shout! magazine (RU). May we suggest giving the gift of music for the holidays?
11.21.05 / STAR CROSSED LOVERS
Iris will be opening for German electropop pioneers De/Vision on their April 2006 "Subkutan" tour. The band is very, very excited. Iris will also be playing the Pluswelt Festival VI in Krefeld on April 29, with De/Vision and a bunch of other excellent bands TBA. Preliminary dates and details are posted in the LIVE section!
Also for those of you lucky enough to be in the South in wintertime, Iris will be playing an extremely rare headlining hometown show in Austin on December 9th @ Elysium. Support band and details will be announced shortly. |

11.15.05 / POLAND, JESTEŚ TAKA UPRZEJMA
The strange run of success in Poland continues. Besides still hitting the ESKA charts in Warsaw, Krakow, and Lodz, we have now received word that we are one of the "Albums of the month" in the Polish version of COSMOPOLITAN (!!) magazine. We are as confused as you, and have nothing much else to say but "Thank you". Oh, and that the new hot color for winter is dusty brown. Second radio single for the PL territory will be "It Generates", with an exclusive club remix.
11.9.05 / RADIO RADIO
The college radio (CMJ) campaign for "Wrath" has started in the US, and CD's have been sent to program directors nationwide. Feel free to call your local station and request your favorite tracks. As Bartles and Jaymes once said, "Thank you for your support".
Also, the CD is now available via iTunes, and other digital distributors. At the moment, iTunes has it listed as "partial album" for some strange reason, but it's actually complete.
10.17.05 / SERDECZNIE DZIĘKUJĘ
We have just learned that "Appetite" has hit #4 has hit #1 (!) on the "Hot 20" charts at mainstream 105.6 Radio ESKA in Warsaw! This is very uncommon for an American band that's not on a major label. Thank you to all of our Polish friends, we appreciate the support!
10.06.05 / MORE FROM THE LAND OF JOHNNY CASH
Wrath (well, technically, the "Wrath EP", which is a 4 song promo-only EP) has moved up to #5 in the DAC charts! Vielen dank to everyone in Germany who has supported the band. At the moment the band is taking a bit of a well-needed break from live shows after the recent appearances in Seattle and the UK.
Also, Andrew is contributing a remix to the new Edge of Dawn record, a collaboration between Frank Spinath (Seabound) and Mario Schumacher. Release will be in November through Dependent Records (EU) / Metropolis (US). Other remix projects in the works include mixes for Danny Hyde (Coil, NIN) and UK breakbeat outfit Seize.
9.20.05 / DAC CHARTS / UPDATE
We are very pleased to report that Wrath has moved up to #8 in the DAC (Deutsch Alternative Charts)!
Also, Iris is again featured on the main MySpace music page -- thank you to everyone that has made us our friend, your comments are always appreciated.
This week also is noteworthy due to the release of the special Polish edition of "Wrath", look for it in Media Markt and other fine stores!
